The Need
For almost 20 years Pro-Home, Inc has been helping thousands of working class and low-income families with obtaining and retaining the security and sense of community that home ownership brings. In recent years the need for our assistance has grown significantly and our coverage area has expanded to more than a dozen cities and towns in the southeastern Massachusetts area, and along with this increase has come an increase in programs and staff.
Last year alone, we:
• Graduated 488 clients from our training seminars
• Provided one-on-one counseling to 424 clients
• Helped 82 of our clients become first-time home owners
• Helped fund the down-payments and closing costs for 7 homes.
• Helped prevent or resolve the delinquency of 88 mortgages
• Prevented the foreclosures of more than 45 homes
• Purchased land to build 4 affordable housing units
• Continued working with the MA Attorney General on the issue of abandoned homes
As our need for increased office space continues to grow, we were recently notified that we will be losing our current office space. This disruption, in the face of our ever increasing workload and needs of our clients, has a significant negative effect on our ability to carry out our mission, and the need for a stable office arrangement became apparent.
Just as home ownership provides stability and security to the working class and low-income family, too, does home ownership provide stability and security to Pro-Home, Inc., the programs we administer and the clients we serve.
The Goal
The goal of this capital campaign is to, with the help of the HOME Consortium, CDBG Funding, the City of Taunton, and our dedicated supporters like you, purchase a residential/commercial building for the new offices of Pro-Home, Inc. Now that we have purchased our building, we need your help funding the renovations and capital improvements to the building.
The Finances
To attain our goal we need $509,000.00 for the purchase, rehabilitation and capital improvements needed to purchase and outfit a building that will meet the needs of our continued growth, and sufficiently serve our clients.
To date, through grants and contributions, we have raised $259,000.00 towards this project and we have purchased our new office at 40 Summer Street in Taunton and we’re looking to you, our supporters, for help in raising the remaining $250,000.00 needed to make this goal a reality.
Providing a permanent home for Pro-Home, Inc. will ensure that we are able to serve our communities for decades to come. We can no longer afford to experience the disruption to our clients, and our operations, that losing donated or leased office space can cause. Please help Pro-Home become a “first-time home buyer!”
Opportunities
Pro-Home, Inc. has launched an informational web site (www.prohomeinc.org) that we will work to develop in the coming years.
For this campaign, we have created a web page to recognize our outstanding supporters for the capital campaign.
If you donate $500.00 or more, you will be given the opportunity to commemorate your donation “in memory” or “in honor” of someone that you would like to recognize, and we will list that person’s name on our web site.
